The lecture phase will involve classroom lectures from speakers who are professionals in their fields, dynamic small group discussions about contemporary world issues, interesting local field trips, and independent study whereby the students will dig deeper into the Word to apply Biblical principles to social issues of today.
Weekly topics will focus on both historical and modern global issues related to:
- Local and global conflict
- Migration & Refugees
- Urban space
- Borders and territory
- Ethnic and national identity
- Human impact on the environment
These topics will be explored from the perspective of human interaction over land and space, and will include weekly assignments rooted in Scripture. Students will be introduced to how the spread of the Gospel is positively or negatively impacted by these human geographic processes, and vice versa. The course will also prepare us for a future of being believers in an increasingly complex and globalized world.
