'We arrive to the world of Belgian waffles and Chocolate'

Well, here we are! In the bustling and lively city of Brussels, Belgium where the streets smell of waffles and chocolate! Thank you God for bringing us here; although we had some miscommunications about which airport we were arriving and getting picked up from, we finally arrived safely only to be welcomed by a big YWAM Brussels team, beautiful apartment and yummy food! Our team did not waste any time and explored the beautiful city the very next day. We separated off into groups and went onto a scavenger hunt as we searched high and low for sights and asked many strangers to take random photos with us. It was a very fun experience as we got to experience the city more as we fumbled around ourselves and also running and hiding from the other team in order to win! We also had some evangelism training by one of the YWAM staff and pushed right through into work with some street evangelism and treasure hunt.  It was really nice to chat with some local people and even tourists as we ventured out to bless them with prayer and even God’s specific message for them.
At the end of the week, we took a train journey to a city named Kortrjik and we spent 4 days in a Christian youth bar named JUMP, ministering and serving the believers in the city. During the days, we prayed for the city and did lots of practical work like repainting the walls of the bar. At night, our team would stay up late as we chatted and build relationships with the youth and people who came to the bar. Even though it was a short 4 days, we were able to help the staff of the bar a lot through our work. They were all very encouraged and touched by what a blessing we have to them. On Saturday night, we had an English pub quiz night where lots of young people gathered for this night of fun! We had a mix of both English and Belgian people in every team to ensure that we would know the answers to all the questions. It was a very fun night filled with lots of laughter, drinks and games! On Sunday, we prepared a church service at the bar and because we didn’t have lots of time to promote about the service, we expected very few people to show up. But boy were we surprised…God led more than 50 people to the bar that morning; there were so many people that there were not enough seats for everyone! Thank you God! It was a very good church service as Taryn shared and challenged the youth about radical obedience and afterwards, we were able to chat more with the multitude of youth in the bar. It was a lovely first weekend for the team in Belgium!
