DTS life Journal week 17 DTS Outreach Journal On our fifth week of outreach, our team got another opportunity to host another youth session at one of the local churches in Caceres. Throughout the week, we prepared for our own teaching and responsibilities accordingly. Some of the youth from Budajoz that we just spent our previous weekend with also joined us at the local church. This time we spoke on topics like Nature and Character of God, Relationship with Jesus, and Relationship with others (Unity). Although we had to teach through translation, I felt that each one of us was used by God to touch specific individuals in His own unique way. We heard that the youth were very encouraged as they felt God speaking to them through us with our teaching. Apart from just teaching and having the youth receive what we say, we have realized that personal relationships are also very important. We try as much to spend time to chat and share and to just to know them better. Thus, we also spent time playing sports with them after lunch; it was a wonderful way to interact with them on a more personal level and to practice team work together. At the end of the weekend, our team also led worship with music and sermon. In addition, we also got a chance to perform some of our powerful dramas at the church. Although we have not been able to spend a lot of time with the local church (only the weekends), I feel that God has also strongly used our team to encourage the church. Because there are few believers in the city, it is important for teams like us to come and to support and to give our resources to them. And just as yet, we are encouraged by their faith and hope in God and their faithfulness to God’s work in the city. Alongside with the ministry that we have been doing in local churches, the church in our basement is also coming along very well. The God-inspired paintings on the church wall are absolutely beautiful; thank you Jesus for providing skilful artist on our team – Catherine to help illustrate the ideas that God has given us. Each of the team has taken a part in painting throughout the week and it is being finished quickly! |
