DTS Returns from Outreach to Bolivia

What is a DTS outreach like?

The September 2008 DTS has recently completed their outreach to Bolivia and Brazil! Each team that returns from outreach comes home with an overwhelming variety and amount of stories to share, to the point that every YWAMer relates to the feeling of speechlessness when someone asks 'How was it?'  There's simply too much to say! Do you focus on the beauty of the culture and the people that you fell in love with, the struggles of adapting to a different climate and lifestyle, the surprising reverse culture-shock upon return, the God given heart of emotions and revelations of life you received or the mighty yet mysterious acts that God accomplished through your team?

However many different aspects there are from each individual outreach and team member there are to give attention to, I think most returning DTS trainees would agree on two things when it comes to outreach: one being how despite being part of an obvious move and hand of God, you can't help but feel that the work is out of your hands... the realization of what God can accomplish through you is more humbling than anything as you see that despite your own short-comings He is mighty to save! Secondly, having to humbly admit that although you were part of something greater than yourself, the fact that the work was greater than what you could have done on your own means that your own heart was ministered to and your own life and perspective was changed more drastically than those you sought out to help and minister to!  Overall, it is a humbling experience!

So, 'What is a DTS outreach like?'  It's like nothing you can possibly anticipate!  I guess you'll have to sign up for the next DTS to find out.  ;)
