Ready to Build
We are almost ready to begin Stage One: Phase One of The King's Lodge Refurbishment.  We have for a long time been hoping and praying to see a new ground floor meeting room to seat 200, classrooms, guest accommodations and better workshop facilities.

Our calling is to equip and then release people into a variety of missions and church ministries and maybe you have been part of this.  Last year alone we sent teams and individuals to over 20 nations and have just finished another wonderful year of very fruitful training in both discipleship and biblical studies.  During this summer (July-August 2009) there were teams in both China and South Africa, a week long camp for 100 children, young people and families with Wildfire who then went for outreach to Italy, Spain and South Africa.  The transformed lives of many who come to train with us continues to testify to the special presence of Jesus in this place.

The challenge we face is that our present facilities are not adequate, either for our current ministry or the expectations we have of future needs.  We desperately need a ground floor meeting room that is larger than our present public meeting room, better hospitality facilities and the redevelopment of our communal area.

We have spent time with an architect who has helped us think through our needs, both present and projected, worked on drawings and has taken us through the planning permission stages with the local planning authorities.  We are now ready to build but want to tackle the project in stages.

Our chosen contractor, a local Christian Business, who has a proven track record of both quality and keeping to price, has at our request broken this project up into three phases for us so we can tackle it in bite size amounts.  We are now ready to begin the first phase.

Stage One, Phase One
This includes demolishing car ports and a bike shed at the back of our building to make room for the foundations to be laid and a concrete floor slab put in place. Moving incoming power cables and carrying out necessary drainage works are also part of this phase.

The internal improvements of this phase include some very exciting internal changes to the layout of our reception area, our snack bar and the downstairs male and female toilets including a disabled access toilet.  For those familiar with the layout of our building, the wall of the snack bar will be removed to open this out and make the present reception area and snack bar one open communal area, and the meeting room will be pushed out from the back wall of the snack bar.  Other changes will facilitate better access from the kitchen to the snack bar by putting a hatch in between.

Stage One, Phases Two and Three
Phase two of the project is to erect the four walls and roof of the meeting hall, making it weather proof at the cost of approximately £130,000 and the final phase is the internal work needed to fit the hall out at the cost of £90,000.

More than anything else we covet your prayer support for this building project.  Please pray with us!

Please would you also consider making a donation towards this work, especially to help us with the first phase.  We believe these new facilities would truly help us better do what we have been called to do and to make a start would both lock in our planning permission and, I believe, encourage others to give as the project would be a live one, not just one on paper.  Any amount would be an encouragement and it all adds up.  For UK tax payers, as you will be aware if the gifts are given via gift aid we will receive the tax you pay back on this amount.  Please ask us for details.
