BCC (Bible Core Course) is 12 weeks of Bible training where you will learn to approach the Bible inductively, giving you invaluable tools to study the Bible effectively for the rest of your life.
As you immerse yourself in the story of the whole Bible, the BCC is designed to equip you with the tools you need for integrating the Word of God into your personal life and to use it as a foundation for ministry.
As a trainee, you will learn how to employ many creative and diverse methods for reading, interpreting and applying the Scriptures. You will also be involved in topical seminars, dramatic re-creations, and various forms of research, including historical, archaeological, literary and geographical studies.
During the course trainees read through the whole Bible, and study many individual books in depth from both the Old and New Testaments. We will equip you to work with every form of literature in the Bible, including the Gospels, the Epistles, the Torah, the Prophetic and Poetical books thus providing a holistic overview.
Besides giving the trainees the skills needed for studying the Bible, the Bible Core Course provides a means for learning how to incorporate the Scriptures into areas of evangelism, worship and intercession. You will also be given opportunities to gain experience in leading small group Bible studies, and in enhancing your teaching and preaching skills.
Although the Bible Core Course is a stand-alone course, it is designed to be compatible with the longer 9-month School of Biblical Studies (CHR 213/315/316*). Enrolment in the second and third terms of the SBS is possible at The King’s Lodge upon successful completion of the Bible Core Course. Trainees who have received credit for CHR 213* may not receive credit for this course.
The Bible Core Course, or BCC, was formerly known as the School of Biblical Studies Core Course (SBSCC) or the Biblical Core Course.

Justice & Reconciliation Focus BCC
War, Death, Pain, Sufferings, Family Brokenness, Destruction of Destiny…
There is no doubt that these things are happening around the world, completely opposite to what God desires. We read that the Garden of Eden was a place of harmony before Adam’s sin. If only Israel had followed the rules and principles God gave Moses, there would have been perfect peace and justice in their society.
God designed humanity to live together in harmony and we can find many specific principles for this in the Bible. Ruth, one of the ancestors of Jesus, would have died a foreigner during famine if there had been no biblical principles in place to care for the poor, the needy and widows. She survived because the Israelites were instructed in the Law to leave the gleanings of the harvest for the poor and needy, thus Jesus was born as the Saviour from her lineage.
Injustice brings forth pain, suffering, division, destruction. We have to know Bible principles of Justice & Reconciliation to lead out in restoration.
Do you have a heart for Social Justice & Reconciliation? Do you want to know the biblical principles for Justice and Reconciliation? Then please pray about doing Justice & Reconciliation Focus BCC.
God has given us the ministry of reconciliation! (2 Cor 5:17-20)
Areas of focus for this BCC:
• Learning principles: Studying books which have a special focus on Justice and Reconciliation to grow in skills to identify biblical principles for Justice & Reconciliation
• Practical application: Both at individual and corporate level
• Intercession: Reconciliation is a fruit of intercession. God is calling us to be passionate intercessors during school
• Mobile week : We will go to Northern Ireland for mobile week. Mobile week is a week of bible study, active worship and intercession, proclaiming the words of God by reading out the bible books, prayer ministry for the reconciliation for the nations. We will try to see the nations through God’s eyes and focus on God’s heart for the reconciliation.
• Dynamic Study: We will have lectures not just in the classroom but in the significant places like John Wycliffe church, British Museum etc. The lecture will be creative and dynamic as much as possible since God is the God of Creativity.
• Unity Focus: Reconciliation is at the heart of unity, so team dynamics and unity will be a significant part of the school. God has given us the ministry of Reconciliation! (2Cor5:17-20)
