Kristina shares about her School of Biblical Studies (SBS) first term…

“The SBS has been an ongoing transforming experience, as God has shown me the ways in which I can encounter Him directly through His Word. I had never studied the Bible using the inductive method, and had really never even read some of the books we were studying. I was more of a “daily devotional” bible reader, memorizing the scriptures I found life changing, and eventually getting to the rest.

Through the short 25verse book of Philemon, I realized that the people who wrote these scriptures were sharing their very own encounters with God and giving us tremendous information and insight into their personal relationships. This was mind-altering because it taught me that each book regardless of length or type, was so perfectly tied together that the writer’s inspiration could only have been the Holy Spirit. God had entrusted particular people who were incredibly sensitive to Him, to give the entirety of believers teaching and encouragement, which would be applicable regardless of generation.

In addition, understanding the scholars who put the Bible together, as well as the means in which they did, has given me a foundation to build on. There are many ways to interpret a single scripture, but the Holy Spirit gives the way in which He wants me to understand and apply it. Our SBS teachers and speakers have imparted such knowledge and insight through their own education, giftings, and experience, something which has ignited my vision of God and how
He wants to impact me through the rest of this school.”
